VESSELS & JACK J AT OPIUM ROOMS

VESSELS and JACK J AT OPIUM ROOMS

On Support:

Hubie Davison (Hidden Agenda, IE)

This April, Hidden Agenda presents a double bill featuring UK post-rock outfit VESSELS & Canadian producer JACK J. Vessels have built a cult following for their incredible live shows which bridge the gap between post-rock and dance music in a truly unique that is theirs to own. With incredible covers of Modeselektor and James Holden, they have demonstrated that there is something very unique about this band. They release their new album Dilate this March, with huge expectations and their energetic live show will leave you breathless!

“We wanted to create live shows where people go to party rather than admire time signatures,” Martin Teff (Vessels).

Dilate began as experiments with looped sounds and vintage synths, the tracks flourishing when played live together in a room. Producer Richard Formby (Spectrum, Wild Beasts, Darkstar) was brought in to finesse the recordings and mix the album in his Leeds studio. Vessels have graced stages at Glastonbury, Simple Things, Beat Herder and Beacons, as well as Berlin’s legendary Berghain club. Like Jon Hopkins, Moderat and Caribou before them, the band have pulled off the elusive trick of translating their intricate, sometimes epic, always uplifting studio creations to the live arena.

Meanwhile, on support, we have JACK J who is one half of Prender Street Steppers and responsible for one of our favourite EP’s of the year, in particular the stand out hit Something (On My Mind). Released with very little hype on Mood Hut Records, the jazz-sampling house record has been one of the underground records of the year.
