Hilary Woods – “Night” @ Smock Alley Theatre (Boys School)

19th:

Maud in Cahoots in concert @ Smock Alley Theatre

The Dublin sisters with a knack for dressing otherwise upbeat and optimistic songs in a wistful glaze will launch their new single in Smock Alley as part of the 2014 Dublin Fringe. Doors 9:30pm.

20th:

Cloud Castle Lake @ Whelan’s

Cloud Castle Lake will play Whelan’s with Maria Somerville, to follow the Irish release of their debut EP “Dandelion” on the 19th. Their single “Sync”, a wonderfully textured 5 minutes and 19 seconds of lush horns and hypnotic melisma, has been reviewed by Pitchfork, NME and Stereogum, to name but a few. This is their first Dublin show “since god knows” so get your tickets early. Doors 8pm.

27th:

Girl Band + Cian Nugent & the Cosmos @ The Button Factory

Golly, what an unmissable opportunity to see some extremely progressive Irish acts perform live, and for only thirteen euros! Cian Nugent & the Cosmos make wonderful raga-like psychedelic folk. Girl Band make psychotic noise-rock danceable. Doors 19:30.
