Fringe Dinner

October 15, 2014 – Food & Drink

Susie, our wee coffee bean lover has been foraging around the city. The results were only radishing!

A couple of weeks ago, after work, I walked around the Temple Bar Saturday Market with Kevin of News of The Curd. We raced around different stalls, choosing bread that had been baked that morning to tomatillos and tomatoes that had been grown with care just outside Dublin City. Into the bags went hand-made cheeses, locally grown radishes and teeny tiny cucuamelons.

The vegetables were provided by Jenny McNally, a regular stall at the market. In the apartment round the corner, that were to be smoked with tea on the hob, awaited a smattering of mushrooms that had been grown by Mark and Lucy of Ballyhoura Mushrooms. Some had even been foraged in the mountains outside the city.

All this Irish food was being prepared for the Fringe Festival Judges’ Dinner,  that was held right beside the apartment of News of Curd.
