This week I started off by creating the shape of the head of the character and decided to use the same hair as the first ‘Internet Woes’ piece as the viewing direction was going to be the same. After that I spent some time making the mouth exactly how I wanted it so it had a nice shocked look and actually looked like a mouth. After I was happy with it, I moved onto finishing the rest of the face by adding on the x’s for eyes as I wanted it to seem as if she was dying of shock. I then finished it off by adding the watercolor details and painting the tshirt. Next I spent some time getting the shape of the hand right so it looked as if she was gripping the phone as a normal person would.

After I was happy with this, I made the little Instagram notification that would show you what she is seeing on her phone, causing her shock. I wanted there to be some depth in this piece so I decided to use 20c and 10c coins to bring the paper pieces away from the background so that there would be more of a shadow, and by using the coins you can get the same depth on each side of the piece. After I was finished this, I photographed it and added the hand written type digitally onto the piece, and framed it as usual, and then it was done.
