H&G’s Midas Touch // Introducing, Louise Bruton

December 3, 2018 – News
 Louise Bruton.
At H&G events, one of our of missions is to offer our attendees (yes, that’s you, you glam bitch!) an experience unlike any other. I’m sorry, but after going to basic nights out all year round you deserve a night of wonder. Due to the overdone “jeans and a nice top” nights, H&G set to transport you into a golden palace this new years eve for our annual Midas Touch event. Be prepared to transform into your most glam self and be covered in gold.
However, that’s not all – we have planned mischief to unfold throughout the night, including a cuddle puddle, massage and wellness area, immersive performance and a new pop project by our gorgeous, talented friend, Louise Bruton.  Believe us when we say, this will tickle your nostalgia vibes to new levels. We met up with the lady of the night to ask her a few saucy questions, as you do.

INTRODUCING, Louise Bruton

Louise Bruton is a pop culture fiend, disability activist and a music journalist. When she’s not writing for the Irish Times and Image.ie, she’s mostly devouring the world of pop. Celebrating Pet Shop Boys, Kylie and Britney in equal measures, she also worships at the altar of house, techno and disco.  She’s debuting her new pop project Ringing In The Ears: The Pop Time Capsule 1998 – 2018 at the Midas Touch NYE party. Get ready for some serious nostalgia and filthy bangers.
1) What should the H&G family expect from your DJ set?
Ringing In The Ears is an audio visual treat that celebrates the best in pop between the years of 1998 and 2018, throwing in some pop facts and music videos on the big screen. From Britney to Ariana, we’re gonna push out the bangers and start 2019 on a serious high.

2) Have you ever heard, or experienced a H&G event?
I have experienced many, many H&G events. I know the divilment that’s expected and I can’t wait to be part of it.

3) What is the last track you played on Spotify?
thank u, next by Ariana Grande… about 10 times in a row.

4) What was your highlight performance of 2018?
I made my DJ debut at this year’s Electric Picnic with the Fat Puppy collective on Body & Soul’s Earth Ship Stage. With a bottle of Buckie in hand, I went from Britney to Nine Inch Nails, Goldfrapp to Abba, Beyoncé to Solange, Madonna to Lizzo. It was amazing. I became every straight boy’s worst nightmare.

5) Worst/ most gas experience playing live? (eg. Gemma Collin’s falling on stage)
I’m essentially still a virgin DJ. We barely got the tip in at EP so I’m ready for full penetration on NYE. Too far?

5) Which artists in Ireland are catching your eye at the minute?
I love, love, love Bad Bones and Laoise

6) How do you plan to cure yourself on the 1st of Jan, 2019?
Some variation of a deep fried chicken ball.

7) Gizzz a mix/song we can jive to before the night.
