For the last three years we have had pleasure of hosting a set of intimate dinners pared with performances based on a writer of choice, this year we chose a rather special writer to speak to the big kid in all of us. Roald Dahl. We jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with Cozy Bitches performance collective, and Smyth and Barry catering to create a bespoke evening of magic and wonder for our full house of guests.
Mixing performance, food and unusual spaces has been a passion of ours. We constructed table runners and decorations out of aged book pages, filled the house with fresh pine and greens, finally setting the whole 300 year old building a wash with open fires and candle light. The venue dripped with a romantic and most curious atmosphere, welcoming guest with a hot drink on a cold winters night. We regaled them with short stories from Roald Dahl through spoken word and shadow puppetry.
Walking them by candle light to the drawing room above we filled them to the brim with food, roaring fires, performances and glitter. Sending our guests home with full bellies, smiley faces and minds running wild with imagination.
